General Overview		Prizes loyalty and despises bullying. Does his best to be a father to his pilots. A "people person", he is highly aware and sensitive to how he is perceived by others and wishes to keep and maintain cordial relations with as many shipmates as possible. Bombastic around male colleagues, he is more restrained and even shy around women, especially if he finds them attractive. His tone is seldom raised about a conversational volume, and it usually takes a lot to earn his ire. His voice is clear, his accent Germanic but subtle unless emotional. A Stickler for protocol and etiquette, he can be seen as overly formal with his superiors.

Personal History		Born in 23XX, Johannes "Hans" Von Haeften dreamed of flying from a young age. As a youth, he was heavily involved in the local glider youth groups and the Scouts. He did well enough in Secondary school to earn a chance to compete for a slot at Starfleet Academy. He was accepted into the Class of 23XX, and promptly volunteered for pilot training. He excelled in the training but was reprimanded several times for minor disciplinary infractions. It was during flight training that he received his callsign of "Berlin", due to both his German heritage as well as the fact that he accidentally ran his aircraft into the hanger wall after forgetting to set the brakes after landing. His first assignment was with USS Ticonderoga as a pilot officer with 12th Fighter Group. He was assigned a pilot mentor of Marine Captain Jose Rivera, who was able to help him harness his more wild tendencies and taught him many of the "nuances" of flight. Follow on assignments included stints on various starships and bases, in increasing responsibility, until landing his current assignment as Group Leader, USS Albion.
