Personality & Traits

General Overview Moria is a new character, so she will come together over the next few days.

The general overview is:
* She's a hard worker, who wants to move up the ranks
* She's idealistic and strongminded, like most early career officers
* She suspects others over-rate themselves and she assumes she can already do whatever their doing - and better
* She is a Jack of all trades and master of none - which is why Strategic Ops fit well ... her problem is she thinks she's the master of all trades and the Jack of none ... her developing story arc will be coming to realise the reverse is true and understanding the value and limitation of that truth.
Strengths & Weaknesses Moria is a bit intense.

Whatever you're doing, she knows you're doing it wrong, and already has a better way of doing. Annoying, she's only ever half wrong ... she does have a way about breaking things down into logical steps ... the sort of thing you'd expect from a Strategic Operations Officer.

She thinks she's the consummate professional. She won't hear otherwise, but everyone else can see she wears her heart on her sleeve. It's a lack of self-understanding that leads to awkward situations and tense exchanges - and that's just with friends that know and 'get' her.

Even after four years at the Academy, Moria's temperament still has a few rough edges that need sanding down. Fortunately, she's not gunning for a diplomatic career.
Ambitions Moria's ambition is to make things happen. The federation is a force for good - Moria just happens to think it'd have a bit more force if someone blew out the cobweb of inefficient paperwork and slow paper pushers weighing the organisation down.

Of course she does. She's young and knows it all.

To be fair, she has got a clear head on her shoulders. She's trained as a Strategic Ops Officer because she knows that this is what makes or break a ship; a Galaxy class ain't no good if the wheels aren't turning. And by wheels, Moria means anything that moves on the ship. And that includes the chef.

The point is, Moria is going to command the leanest and most agile ship in the Federation and get more stuff done than Starfleet Command has available archives for.

At least that what she said to her room mate Sasha after they finished that bottle contraband Champagne. You've got to celebrate passing your first semester at the Academy - right?

Hobbies & Interests Moria plays tennis. Lots. She also plays it like the tennis court is in the boxing ring. Be warned.

Besides boxing tennis (and assuming she's right about everything) Moria uses the rest of her time to make sure she's well rested.

Resting includes a mix of sleep, drinking herbal tea in a dark room and crosswords. The crosswords are a bit counterintuitive: the final answers never fit the boxes as one of the clues is always "dodgy". You can hear her teeth grating already, can't you?

Personal History TBC - want to think a bit more on this.
Service Record Moria's service record is pretty conventional, joining Starfleet on her second attempt at the entrance exam aged 19 and then completing her four years.

In addition, Moria has completed a one year tour of duty on a civilian freighter ("Thermes" - Deneva Class), having been accepted onto the Academy's post-graduation "Year in Industry" placement, where she was seconded as Refrigerated Good Ops Officer, giving her experience in commercial operational logistics.

With her secondment completed, Moria is now awaiting her first Starship assignment which she hopes to be with the U.S.S. Albion.

Until then, the Moria is continuing to help the captain of the Thermes as an Ops Officer in exchange for accommodation and a gushing reference which doesn't mention the food fight that turned nasty in the mess hall.
