:ON:

Key & Sprage: ::Walking along Marina Green, overlooking San Francisco bay::

Sprage: ::Dressed in late 23rd century Admiral rank uniform:: “About those colourful metaphors we discussed… I don’t think you should try using them anymore.”

Key: ::Dressed in a white Vulcan robe, with a white headband:: “Why not?”

Sprague: “Well for one thing, you haven’t quite got the knack of it.”

Key: “I see.”

Sprague: “And another thing, it’s not always necessary to tell the truth.”

Key: “I cannot tell a lie.”

Sprague: “I don’t mean lie… but you could exaggerate.”

Key: “Exaggerate?”

Sprague: “Exaggerate. You’ve done it before, can’t you remember?”

Key: “The hell I can’t.”

:: Dr. Gillian Taylor pulls up near the two men in her blue pick-up truck ::

Sprague: “There she is, from the institute. If we play our cards right we may be able to find out when those whales are leaving.”

Key: “How will playing cards help?”

::Suddenly Janeway’s dog appears, knocking Key down onto his ass. It starts barking excitedly::

Sprague: “Computer, freeze programme! Don, I thought you said you’d fed this mutt?”

Key: “I did! As soon as I knew we were doing the Kirk and Spock whale adventure, I fed it three cans of dog food.”

Sprague: “This thing has a bigger appetite than the both of us put together!”

Key: ::Gets to his feet:: “Computer, fast forward to time index 5823.3, the part where Kirk and Bones McCoy break Chekov out of the hospital.”

Sprague: “Ooh! My favourite part! Why don’t you be Kirk for this next bit, and I’ll be Bones.”

Key: “Sounds good! Computer, resume programme.”
