Captain Sprague suddenly found himself in the Albion's command chair with no knowledge or how or why he got there just as the ship was about to enter the Altara Nebula. Sprague then went to the Ready Room and the computer told him that he is indeed the Captain. However, Sprague believes that he's actually retired and that a commercial holodeck operator who is supposed to have the program set on Risa is playing a joke on him with a Star Fleet simulation.

Since then the crew has mostly tried to catch up with Sprague to keep him from wreaking havoc. Mack has also shown signs of delusion, though not to the same level as Sprague, and has repeatedly been in and out of sickbay, much to the chagrin of of both Dr. Spivick and the bridge crew.

Eventually Sprague stole a shuttle craft and warped off. In the process, Silva happened to be standing in the shuttle bay and was sucked out into space. Since he wasn't wearing his comm badge, his disappearance will always be a mystery.

While Sprague was gone, the ship's computer started to overheat. With just minutes from permanent failure, the team of Hadden, Geno, and Mack discovered that someone was illegally using the ship's computer to mine the quantum cryptocurrency BitCredit ®. They stopped the mining and the computer returned to normal.

The Albion then caught up with Sprague, who began firing torpedoes at the ship, which caused minimal damage. Andrews then had Sprague beamed directly into a shuttle craft holodeck program. In the program, Sprague destroyed the Albion and the program ended. This reinforced Sprague's belief that the whole thing has just been holodeck illusion. Sprague managed to leave the holodeck, thinking that he's simply going into another program. Finally, Andrews arrived at the holodeck to find Sprague already gone.

And that's where we pick up the story...

ON:

Sprague: "Code zero zero zero. Destruct. Zero."

Computer: "Destruct sequence is activated."

Sprague: ::places comm badge in the command chair and exits::
