Janeway: “The cordon is stable for now, sir. But if you’d like the beach reopened, we can adjust. Your call.”
:: Janeway stood at ease but attentive, waiting for the Admiral’s decision. The humid night air still clung heavily around them. She wiped another trickle of sweat from her brow, dog tags sticking to her damp green turtleneck.::
Nabarati ::antennae twitching slightly:: “Just say the word, Admiral. We can shift the perimeter in under a minute.”
Valentino ::quietly to the side:: “Bet he opens it. No one builds a beach villa to keep it empty.”
Young Marine ::muttering hopefully while still eyeing Janeway’s empty tuna tin:: “If he does, maybe we can finally get something bigger than these sardine cans…”
Janeway ::giving the young Marine a sharp disciplined look and amused side-eye:: “Focus, Marine. Whatever the Admiral decides, we execute it professionally.”
::Janeway kept her posture straight, ready to adjust the cordon or maintain it, as the violet nebula continued to swirl overhead. The ball was now firmly in Admiral Star’s court.::
