Hours have passed since the marines were deployed to protect Admiral Vila during his vacation. They remain stationed in a small, fortified area near the coast to prevent any further disruption at the otherwise crowded beachfront tourist attraction. This particular detachment of Janeway’s marines was assigned specifically for security purposes on behalf of Starfleet Admiral Charles Star.

::Captain Emily Jones Janeway stood at ease but attentive, sweat still clinging to her green turtleneck. She glanced at the Young Marine, who was still holding his empty tuna tin.::
Janeway ::dryly:: “Marine, pack up those open tuna cans. We’re tossing them before we head back.”

Young Marine ::reluctantly:: “Yes, ma’am…”
Nabarati ::antennae twitching slightly:: “We’re ready whenever you give the word, Captain.”
Valentino ::quietly, with a grin:: “I vote for reopening it. My boots have officially taken root.”
::The team waited quietly for Admiral Star’s decision, the violet nebula continuing its slow swirl overhead. After the long humid shift, everyone was clearly ready to wrap up perimeter duty and return to the ship. Janeway kept her posture professional, prepared to carry out whatever orders came next.::
