Grallator: “Whoa. That’s heavy.” #SNIP#
Grallator::looks at his watch, wondering if they will ever get to the USS Norwich::
Janeway: “Yeah, it’s the stuff of space nightmares.” ::leans forward in the co-pilot seat, elbows on her knees:: “I’ve seen worse. Even though Had a squad pinned under something that looked a lot like that once. Turned out the nightmare had teeth and a real appetite for body armor. Difference is, back then I had Marines with me. Right now we got a shuttle and a clock that won’t stop ticking.”
::without warning their shuttle’s orbiting viewport behind her goes black — a massive scaled head and single glowing eyes with huge body begins slam into view so close the bulkhead seems to vibrate, the intergalactic, massive dragon’s sudden appearance filling the entire window like it had been waiting for the perfect moment to reveal itself::
the same oily violet-and-cyan plates, the same cold intelligent eyes she had just been describing. The nightmare was suddenly right there, filling the entire window.::
Janeway: ::her head snaps around at the sudden change in light. The calm briefing tone vanishes. One hand already moves toward the nearest console while her eyes lock on the creature::
Janeway: “…Grallator.” ::voice low, flat, and razor-sharp:: “We have company. Right now.”
Janeway: ::her head snapped around the second the light changed. One hand already moved toward the nearest control panel while her eyes locked on the creature. Her voice dropped low and flat, pure Marine::
::She didn’t raise her voice. She didn’t panic. She just kept her eyes locked on the thing outside the glass, already calculating distance, size, and how fast they could get clear if it decided to do more than look.::
Janeway: “That’s the same species. Or something damn close to it. Don’t make any sudden moves until we know if it’s just curious… or hungry.”
