Mission:
Nebulous
Location: captain's ready room
Timeline: after having completed initial general external and internal scans
"there were a few things that I thought might be best said in confidence, sir. I was examining some of the scan information that I already described but there were
some other details. I have some personal experience with having been stuck in a transporter pattern-buffer for some extended period of time- which is still not clear
how long or why- but I am familiar with certain sensations of being disoriented. I was just feeling those prior to reporting to the bridge. I am not sure where I was on
the ship prior to coming up the turbo-lift, nor even how I came aboard. Last I remember I was at a starbase- I think it was 247 but I am not even certain of that much.
In any case sir, the part I especially want to report is that it is possible our entire crew has been in some form of stasis aboard the Albion, and that the nav system was
given a course without direct involvement of anyone aboard. It's as though someone intentionally sent us here and intentionally saw to it that we do not know why, or
exactly when, how or under what other circumstances. I am guessing that conversations with other crew, might make that general pattern eventually obvious. I kind of
hesitate to do that on my own, since my rank would make that effort seem a bit presumptuous really, but if ordered I would try.
Anyway that "group-stasis" situation is just my guess.
Further, my fleet training about security practices did indicate that sometimes there might be missions of this type, for some kind of security
reason. One thing we could all expect is a certain sensation of disorientation, sort of like coming out of anesthesia after major surgery except that would might not even
remember that we had surgery.
So I'm guessing that the entire crew might be feeling that, especially the humanoids. Crew with other species physiology might be a bit less confused.
And one other thing: I was sort of told in security training that in the above mission scenario, typically there is ONE member of the crew who is given more briefing,
sort of as a mission-specialist but usually not the captain. I gather they do that to guard against attacks upon the captain as an otherwise obvious means of preventing
the mission being accomplished. All I can tell you with any confidence about that, is that I am pretty sure I am not that crew member."
