finding a shuttle

Mission:
Nebulous
Location: saucer section bridge
Andrews orders Mack to try to take remote control of a shuttle and use that to warp to the presumably-stranded saucer section
on:
"I think I can send the bay-open commands to star-drive security system with a bogus captain's security level, sir."
::attempting to send codes. ACK is ambiguous. sends doors-open and launch sequence to any shuttle or runabout or starfighter in the presumed sector of the stardrive/battle-bridge::
"tactical. I do not see obvious ACK from a shuttle nor warp signature. I am assuming the small ship is within the star drive cargo bay. Is it possible that it is somewhere else? Do you detect
a small ship anywhere else? I will do a deeper scan of this entire region for a warp signature. Is it possible that some of my attempts to transport contents from the bays before auto-destruct
might have succeeded? Those transports would not have left a warp signature. My sensor array is not sensitive enough to do short range scans for sub-warp power signatures, but I have an idea.
I believe we still have some probes aboard. We could go to max impulse, about 0.9 warp toward the stardrive and launch a probe. I can send command control sets to the probe and have it
relay all of the protocols in subspace broadcast, which might get the commands sooner and in a stronger subspace signal, plus shield the probe from being detected by any of the captain's sensor
array since I have already broken most of those codes. Permission to proceed?"
Commander. Is there any reason to think that a shuttle or runabout-looking-ship would be anywhere else but in the star-drive bays? What if the captain might have moved them somewhere else?"
