Sir since you did ask for information from ANYONE, I shall risk the appearance of violation of chain of command.
I informed the captain of my findings two days ago. I trusted HIM to make the decisions to inform his bridge crew
appropriately. I am forced to conclude that this did not happen. So now I feel I must inform you. I detected the possible
presence of a base inside the nebula during my long-range external scan. The base did not appear to be federation
design nor technology. The fact that it appears to be located inside a nebula of this type, suggests strongly that it was
located here for the purpose of being relatively cloaked.

Records of my attempt to inform the appropriate rank, will be reflected in my mission posts and personal log, as well as relevant
details in my personnel record (however apparently incomplete).

I remain in sick bay, per your orders and have yet to have a check up by the doctor, who appears to have been elsewhere. It is
possible that his location had been somehow related to the shuttle's departure.

I suspect that the shuttle was taken by the captain. He is the only crew member who would have been able to do that without
security authorization from you.

hence since the captain is no longer apparently in command, you are, and therefore I presume to inform you whereas prior to
this development I felt it rather insubordinate for me to do that beyond my conference with him ALONE in his ready room. I
gather that some other officers were there later, but I was not present (contrary to what Lieutenant Genno has implied) and
ASSUMED (perhaps incorrectly) that Captain Sprague informed his appropriate staff at that time with regard to what I told him.

I await your orders or will remain at sick bay as you ordered already.

I suggest that, with your level of security clearance, you privately ask the ship's locator system where Captain Sprague is. My guess is
that he is no longer aboard.
